ENVIROMENTAL PROTECTION

Every business activity impacts the environment, and we acknowledge our role in this. We understand that our operations pose potential risks to nature and that conserving resources is essential for everyone. Therefore, we strive to minimize our environmental impact through sustainable practices and eco-friendly technologies.

Environmental Commitment

We utilize energy efficiently and are certified in accordance with ISO 50001 for our Energy Management System. To promote environmental awareness, we engage our employees and ensure that any environmental incidents are investigated transparently, with their root causes addressed. For many years, we have recorded product spills, their volumes, and the amounts of energy and water used, along with the waste produced at our sites. We have established key performance indicators to better identify and evaluate our progress in these areas. Additionally, to assess our impact on climate change, we calculate the carbon (CO2) footprint of the entire group of companies.

As part of our HSSE management, we implement preventive measures, such as regularly monitoring groundwater quality at our tank terminals, with the data evaluated centrally by our environmental experts.

Water Spill Precautions

In addition to our efforts to prevent environmental damage, we prioritize a prompt and effective response to emergency situations. To provide professional support for its subsidiaries during a major oil spill, the MB Energy Group is a shareholder in Oil Spill Response Limited, the largest oil spill response company in the world. As part of this initiative, enport has developed scenario-specific contingency plans for all relevant sites and conducted practical training and drills. Furthermore, MB Energy actively participates in the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF), a voluntary association of oil companies dedicated to ensuring the safe and environmentally responsible operation of oil tankers and terminals.

Waste Management

We collect both industrial waste (such as metals and packaging) and waste that requires monitoring (including product residues and separator residues), which necessitates special treatment and separate disposal. The majority of monitored waste at our terminals consists of contaminated water from oil-water separators and residues from tank cleaning. We use suction trucks to pump out this waste and then transfer it to external specialized companies for proper treatment.
